The Ministry of Education in Partnership with SD59 is hosting a:
\nCommunity Meeting on Student Progress and Reporting on November 24th,
\nin Dawson Creek<\/p>\n

You are invited!<\/p>\n

Together with educators, government is developing a new reporting approach for students in kindergarten to Grade 9, to give parents a deeper understanding of their child’s progress at school. With new curriculum being implemented in B.C. classrooms this school year, the way student progress is reported must change too.<\/p>\n

The parent engagement process includes the launch of an online feedback forum (web- link below), along with 10 community meetings around the province.<\/p>\n

The input from the public engagement process, along with feedback from school district leaders, experts and teachers, and research by the Ministry will all be considered as the provincial K-9 student reporting approach is developed and finalized.<\/p>\n

A summary report on the overall engagement process and the input received will be produced and posted online for the public to view in June 2017.<\/p>\n

The community meeting will be Open-House style for the first two hours. Parents and interested community members are invited to come in and learn more, talk to Ministry and school district staff, and then complete a feedback form.<\/p>\n

The last hour will be a facilitated design session (run by Ministry facilitators) specifically focused on the future of reporting student progress.<\/p>\n
