Thank you to Mr Price for following update about the SD60 Band Program!
The various bands of the School District 60 Band Program have been busy in a number of festivals in the past few weeks. On April 5, the Beginning Band, Grade 7 Band, Concert Band, Senior Band and SD60 Jazz Band all performed at the Peace River North Performing Arts Festival. The Grade 7 Band, the Concert Band and the Jazz Band all received Silver Standing, while the Beginning Band and Senior Bands both received Gold Standing. The following Monday, the Concert Band, the Jazz Band and the Senior Band all performed at the Cantando Music Festival in Edmonton. This non-competitive festival gave the groups the opportunity to perform on the stage at the Winspear Centre as well as the Jazz Stage the Yardbird Suite. The students all greatly valued the performance opportunities, as well as the adjudications that they received. The trip was a very successful trip overall. Our year end concert is coming on Thursday May 9, 6:30 at the North Peace Cultural Centre.
