School District 60 Hires New Secretary-Treasurer

Angela Telford

After a province-wide search, SD60 is pleased to announce that Angela Telford has been hired as the new Secretary-Treasurer, effective February 1st, 2021.

The District carried out a robust hiring and interview process with several applicants and Angela emerged as the top candidate.  She has been with SD60 for the past year and a half in the capacity of Director of Finance.  With a Bachelor of Commerce and her experience in managing financial processes internally and with the Ministry of Education, she is well-suited to step into this new role.

“The Secretary-Treasurer has a senior leadership role in the District.  Not only will she provide financial stewardship of significant public funds, she will oversee the operations side of the District and support the Board of Trustees in its governance role, as the corporate secretary.  Angela has already established positive and effective relationships with our leadership team.  She is also connected to our local community and has provided voluntary leadership support for events like the BC Winter Games.  I am looking forward to working with her as part of senior management.”

  •  Stephen Petrucci – Superintendent of Schools

“The board looks forward to working alongside Angela. She is an excellent fit for this new role in our school district.  The background she brings from her experience on community boards will be an asset.”

  • Helen Gilbert – Board Chair
