The Superintendent reported that over 100 parents attended the 1st Annual Parent Conference. Parents were amazed with the quality of local speakers and asked that this conference continue in the future.

Grade 10 student Kimmie Gulevich is off to Taiwan in February to represent Canada at an international science fair. Kimmie is a student at Dr. Kearney Junior Secondary School and a participant in the district’s Secondary Gifted Program.
The Residential Construction Project
This year’s residential construction project is well underway. Partnering with the city, who donated two lots for each of three years, district students are now at the stage of shingling the two homes as part of the affordable housing project.
SD60 Student Wins Northern Zone X-Country Finals
Kendra Young and her coach/father/teacher Rob Young. Kendra, a student at Bert Bowes Junior Secondary, recently won the Northern Zone High School Girls Cross Country Championship and qualified for provincials.
