School District 60 is looking for Host Families for International Students. The following letter is from our International Education Principal, Brian Campbell.
Dear Families,
Are you interested in being a Host Family for SD60 next year?
We are currently looking for some new Host Families for our program, to start hosting in September 2021. We have students coming from 16 different countries from around the world.
We are looking for host families to provide care for 3 month, 5 month or 10 month stays. There is an honorarium provided for Host Families to help with the additional costs of having another person in your home.
Basic expectation of a Host Family:
-Provide a clean, safe, nurturing, supportive home environment.
-Provide a private furnished bedroom with a window large enough to escape through.
-Provide 3 meals/day plus snacks.
-Provide help with transportation (for extra- curricular activities) as well as to school, if there is no bus available.
-Provide opportunities to explore and experience Canada!
-Include students as part of your family, as you would expect your own child to be treated if they were with a different family.
-Submit a Criminal Record Check for the School District.
