Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, schools across the country are engaging in a variety of enriching activities and educational programs to honour the contributions of great Canadians.

February is celebrated provincially and nationally as Black History Month. Many educators and schools are honouring Black History Month by exploring the rich history, achievements, and stories of Black Canadians, aligning with our commitments to the BC Curriculum. The provincial Social Studies curriculum is structured around Big Ideas, Content, and Competencies that guide teachers in their planning and presentation.
