For several years School District 60’s Achievement Contract has had a Social Responsibility – Citizenship goal. Not only do we want our students to excel at their curricular areas and be Best In the World, it is most important that they contribute positively to our community and be Best For the World. Of many great examples, Robert Ogilvie students and staff along with contributions from parents, churches, the Parents Advisory Council, and a significant donation from Industrial Scaffolding, have put together eight packages to help families in the community in need this Christmas season.
Further the RO students have collected
- 80 pairs of pajamas for a local pajama drive.
- 80 mittens, 30 toques, 10 mitten/toque combinations, and a donation of toques from Imagine That which will be go to a local organization to help families in need.
- Fundraising from candy grams that will be donated to local charities
- Six boxes of food for the food bank.
Great examples of our learning community members being Best For The World.
From everyone at School District 60 we wish you safe and happy holidays! See you again in the New Year when schools open again on Monday, January 5th, 2015.
