The following message is from Superintendent Stephen Petrucci
March 13, 2020
Dear Parents,
Yesterday afternoon, the provincial health officer, Bonnie Henry, announced new advisories on any travel outside of Canada and public gatherings/events of over 250 people. You can see this announcement here. At this time, schools are not being closed.
If your family travels outside of the country over Spring Break and while this advisory is in place, you are asked to self-isolate for 2 weeks upon your return. While this cannot be enforced, the health officer advises that it is your civic duty to do so. If you intend on traveling outside the country, please inform your school administrator via email and let them know when you are returning so that the timeline for self-isolation for the student is clear. The school may not have the capacity to support home learning during self-isolation for those families that choose to travel outside of Canada.
We ask the public to continue to monitor advisories from the provincial health officer. District updates and resources are also posted on our website at www.prn.bc.ca. This includes a recent letter from the Ministry of Education.
It is inevitable that some students, staff and parents will contract the virus. As always, our community will come together to respond to this crisis with reason and compassion.
Sincerely,
Stephen Petrucci
Superintendent
